trainers quotes

"Lulani - Lightly-raced this year with just two runs so there should be more to come. Conditions will be fine for her and will be better for recent run after two months off. Silvestre has gone close on her in the past so that's a plus.  Big weight to carry (10-0), but actually doesn't look the best of races so providing all 8 stand their ground we head here with an each-way chance."
Harry Dunlop

27/07/16 1st 11/2

"Twiggy - Several non-runners give us a better chance, but still at this stage 11 heading to post. Hard to assess the others in races like this but we were pleased with her debut run at Yarmouth - only beaten 4 3/4 lengths - with today's favourite, Seyasah only a place in front of us that day in seventh! Hoping she gets a bit more cover today as she ran far too freely up front last time, but we like this filly a lot and think we head here with an each-way chance."
Jane Chapple-Hyam

27/07/16 3rd 7/2 (from 12/1)

"Outrage - Dane O'Neill rides the gelding in the five furlong handicap. It finally looks as the horse is learning to race properly having just been caught on the line at Ffos Las last week over six furlongs. It's a tight little contest with a few in form horses coming to the race despite the small field which limits each-way opportunities. But we head here off the back of a solid effort last time and on that run we'd be expecting to go close again here off the same mark."
Daniel Kubler

26/07/16 1st 3/1

"Twin Point has been off the track for a while after a nasty injury to his foot so we'll see how he gets on here. That said, he is ready to run again and will like the quick ground so hopefully he can start where he left off with some very encouraging runs in the winter. Place claims with the Hills horse looking the obvious one to beat."
Charlie Fellowes

26/07/16 2nd 8/1

"Multitask - Disappointing run last time when last of 11 at Kempton. Different tactics this time (raced up with the pace last time) which hopefully will work and, if so, should have every chance of running a lot better, especially dropped 3lbs and with Hector's 5lbs claim too. Each-way chance"
Gary Moore

25/07/16 1st 7/1

"PHIJEE ran well at Newbury first time out and he should have won. We are going to Carlisle as the ground is not going to be too firm. He has improved a lot from his first race and think we have a good chance."
William Muir

24/07/16 1st 4/6

"Katie Gale - It goes without saying the favourite will be tough to beat here, but the horses are going well at the moment and we think Katie can still get involved here. Only second run over hurdles and despite racing down the field first time we think she's be taught a fair bit for that. That was over longer too so this drop in trip is a plus and this doesn't look the strongest race, after the market leader. Each-way claims at a fair price."
Mick Appleby

24/07/16 3rd 6/1

"Torquay - First run into a handicap and gets in here with a nice mark. Could turn into a trappy little race with just 6 runners, but the horse is well and seems to be going the right way. A few others with good-looking chances too, but we head here hopeful of a good run if taking to the ground (we think she will). Each-way claims."
Harry Dunlop

23/07/16 2nd 7/1

"Palmerston - Won well for us two runs back beating a fair yardstick in Fort Jefferson. That was over a mile so the return to this trip after trying 1m2f last time is a big plus. Yes, 5lbs higher than that win and higher grade but the horse is very well at home and I think we head here with a great each-way chance at a nice price. We've a few out today, but this one looks the value e/w bet from all my runners."
Mick Appleby

23/07/16 1st 20/1

"Primo Time - Only fourth career run here today, but his last run was a big step forward so hoping for better still here. Was a much-improved fourth at Stratford a few months ago and seemed to like the quicker ground that day. Similar conditions here and Jamie a good jockey booking - riding well at the moment. The Peter Bowen horse might be the one to beat, but it's not easy giving weight away in races like this. Hard to assess the others but we head here with place claims at a fair e/w price."

“I enjoy reading the e-mails each day and getting the trainers thoughts.  I have been keeping my punting to the 4 & 5* advices for now. Today I read the thoughts of Jamie Snowden on Lucy's Girl - but then looked at the race - rank outsider of 4 runners - never have picked that myself in a month of Sundays - but the trainer was confident so put on a tenner at BFSP - happy days with a return of 36/1. The fee is a small price to pay for such inside info”. Ian S
