"Akula: Not been out on the flat for 782 days, but did run well for us over hurdles when third last month and we fancied him to go well that day too. So comes here fit and well and we try him back on the AW here. Well handicapped too off this mark, but the Williams-trained horse is the one to beat so we come here with a fair e/w chance in my eyes, but would be a small shock with the horses not quite running for us at the moment if he won."

"Khajaaly: We won this race 12 months ago with Tartan Trip. No real hiding place for this horse these days. We all know he likes it over 7f and while most of his wins have been at Wolverhampton he does have one career win here too. Only a pound higher than last winning here by over 2 lengths too and we take 3lbs off as well - decent place claims."

"Burnhope: I'm convinced a mile is fine for him and Luke Morris again a big help in the saddle. Think he represents good value today."

"Royal Peculiar: The Swinbank team took this race 12months ago so their I'm Super Too is feared. Our horse has not been out for 489 days and is having his first run on the surface. Well handicapped on old form and has been doing plenty at home. Has gone well fresh in the past and although he will certainly come on for this run would not be surprised to see him run well."

"Luv U Whatever: Right at the top of his game at the moment, winning his last two. Up another 6lbs for the latest of those and has a big burden to carry so won't be easy to land the hat-trick. But the horse has come out of that last race very well, Liam rides again and everything points to another bold showing if taking another step forward."

"Rhythm Star - Is a dual bumper winner who won her novice hurdle easily. She was third behind Miss Sophierose under a penalty but re-opposes on better terms here. She'll appreciate this step up in trip and has a decent each-way chance in my view and in a competitive mares race."
29/01/15 3rd 6/1
"Had more of a break since his last run and comes here today fresh and well. Testing ground conditions but GORES ISLAND should run well"
29/01/15 1st 7/1
"Showtime Star: Poor here for us last week, but easier race this time into claiming company. That was only his first run at the track so would have taught him a bit too - small e/w chance as I expect a better run this time in this grade."
29/01/15 3rd 53/10
"Seek The Fair Land: Has had a break, but also been working well during that time. Only 8 runners so top three claims and was a good old servant last year for us - never really running a bad race. 7f trip ideal and won off higher in the past. William Carson rides, he's been on his back before and gets on well with him."
28/01/15 2nd 25/1
"Brave Decision: Ran his best race ever last time and remains in good form. Expect him to go well here and track should suit. Should go very close."

“Could you thank Scott Dixon for being so honest with Sir Geoffrey (W5/1) it has just paid for my Christmas!” - Dave W
“I enjoy reading the e-mails each day and getting the trainers thoughts. I have been keeping my punting to the 4 & 5* advices for now. Today I read the thoughts of Jamie Snowden on Lucy's Girl - but then looked at the race - rank outsider of 4 runners - never have picked that myself in a month of Sundays - but the trainer was confident so put on a tenner at BFSP - happy days with a return of 36/1. The fee is a small price to pay for such inside info”. Ian S
