trainers quotes

"ROCHELLE needed her first run after a long break.  She has improved on her homework since and I am hopeful of a big run. I think she will progress more when stepping up in distance but this looks an opportunity with a low rating."
William Muir

18/09/14 1st 16/1

"It Must Be Faith - The Wigham-trained horse is the one to beat, but we come here with a fair chance too. Second last two times at Yarmouth pleased us and has won over this 6f trip before. If the favourite has an off day and I question what that horse has actually beaten of late, plus not the best draw - we can hopefully take advantage. We've got the better draw, and if pushed I'd rate this horse our best chance on the day."
Mick Appleby

18/09/14 1st 10/3

"Sov - Nice horse. Unraced but expecting a big run - goes well."
Alan McCabe

18/09/14 1st 5/6

"Hell Hath No Fury - We probably ran her a bit too soon after her easy Lingfield win two starts back. Didn't build on that next time off a 10lb higher mark, but has had a break to freshener her up and better expected today. It's a race with no previous distance winners in and although her win came over shorter we are hopeful she'll get the trip, only concern would be the ground and if it's too quick."
Mick Appleby

18/09/14 1st 5/1

"Guishan - Comes here on a 4-timer. Up another 6lbs for latest win and up in grade, but did that well and over the same trip we are hopeful being that the horse remains in cracking form. Still improving and although this will be harder still expected to go well again."
Mick Appleby

18/09/14 3rd 9/2

"Hostile Fire - Ignore last run - had no run. Time before ran into a well-handicapped horse. Prefer the ground to be slower side of good - I know it's good, good-to-firm, but it's not a 100/1 shot that it will be the slower side of good! Money for the Hannon horse (Mutawathea), probably quite rightly so, but that makes ours look e/w value."
Ed de Giles

16/09/14 1st 9/2

"The Great Gabrial - Been running well on the AW of late - back on the turf today but that's not a problem. Only second run for me but the horse gets in here on a fair turf mark and has won 4 times over this 7f trip. Expected to go well in what looks a race with many chances, but top 3 finish on the cards. Probably my best chance on the day."
Mick Appleby

16/09/14 3rd 7/1

"For Shia And Lula is rocking at present - we've got the Jenkins horse to beat (Sakash) but we are very hopeful again."
Mark Loughnane

15/09/14 1st 3/1

"Burnhope - Down to a good mark and step in the right direction last time - chance if handling the track."
Scott Dixon

15/09/14 3rd 12/1

"Solaras Exhibition - The horse comes here fresher than most and continues to drop to a handy mark. Has won off higher in the past and drop back to 1m4f will suit after trying 2m on the flat last time. Ground fine and has run well at the track before (won here over hurdles). Looks a race with 3 main runners to beat so might be hard to land the money, but still a better run expected than recent efforts."
Tim Vaughan

14/09/14 1st 12/1

“Could you thank Scott Dixon for being so honest with Sir Geoffrey (W5/1) it has just paid for my Christmas!” - Dave W

“I enjoy reading the e-mails each day and getting the trainers thoughts.  I have been keeping my punting to the 4 & 5* advices for now. Today I read the thoughts of Jamie Snowden on Lucy's Girl - but then looked at the race - rank outsider of 4 runners - never have picked that myself in a month of Sundays - but the trainer was confident so put on a tenner at BFSP - happy days with a return of 36/1. The fee is a small price to pay for such inside info”. Ian S
