Oliver Sherwood – Weststreet 1st Feb 2017 2nd 14/1 – Hereford

No chance with the winner – but was the only other to finish so picked up the each-way money. Original quote: “Weststreet – He ran well enough at Newbury on his first run over fences, he jumped well and after looking as if he was going to be well beaten he did knuckle down and gallop to the line. That was at Newbury and it wasn’t a bad race. Unfortunately, he isn’t particularly well-handicapped and with a rating of 125 he is difficult to place. This isn’t the ideal race, it’s a conditions race, which means he is meeting horses rated higher than him at level weights, but he’s been ready to run for weeks and there has been nothing suitable for him and he needs experience. On a plus, the trip and ground will suit.
