29/11/2019 1st 13/2 – Sevarano – Oliver Sherwood Newbury

Oliver’s improving hurdler goes in again – exciting times! Original quote: “Sevarano won nicely on his reappearance at Chepstow confirming the promise he showed early last season, he went on to disappoint a couple of times but I’m convinced that was just weakness. Sevarano is a very tall horse, he’d be close on 17hh and he’s naturally a lean type but he is definitely stronger this winter, so hopefully he can continue to improve. He was caught a bit flat footed first time out before galloping on strongly to the line, I’ve always thought/hoped he would be more of a staying chaser type and the way he jumps his hurdles a future career over fences looks promising. Conditions will suit and so will the extra furlong here. Should go well, but this will also be a tough task, as he has to carry a penalty today against a couple of nice horses and on testing ground – but we have to hope he’s continuing to improve and that he will give a good account.
