Git Maker Sat 20th Apr 2024 15:35, Ayr DEC Odds: 8.4(Betfair Exc) Git Maker had an excellent first season over fences in 2022-23 winning two of four and looked tailor-made for some major prizes this term. After winning on comeback at Lingfield, he jumped left-handed at Ascot, also finding fast going unsuitable. Then he ran a belter in 2nd at the Cheltenham Festival 18 lengths clear of the 3rd home in the Kim Muir. Winner of six of his 11 starts we think he will enjoy this test of stamina. Off his light weight, we think he has a great chance of running a big race. |
Torneo Sat 20th Apr 2024 15:25, Bangor DEC Odds: 6.8(Betfair Exc) Ex-French and 84 rated on the flat, Torneo was always going to be a good hurdling prospect. After two good runs, including a 3rd at Kempton over Christmas, he bolted up at Wetherby and then ran an excellent 3rd in the mud at Fontwell last time. Given time to recover and on nicer ground today he can continue the improvement and shouldn't be far away.
Double Click Sat 13th Apr 2024 13:40, Chepstow After a couple of disappointing runs, Double Click ran a battling race to come through late to win over this course and distance last time out. While this looks a better contest, he will enjoy conditions and should run another good race.
Landrake Sat 13th Apr 2024 13:20, Aintree Topically, Landrake is related to Grand National winner Rule The World on the female side of his pedigree. He had useful novice hurdles form in Ireland but disappointed over fences this season. He makes his debut for us back over hurdles in a very tough handicap but we feel he goes there with an each-way chance.
Ellies Sister Sat 13th Apr 2024 13:10, Chepstow As the name suggests, Ellies Sister is indeed a sister to the useful chase mare Ellie Mac. She showed glimmers in bumpers but has taken an age to get the hang of hurdling. She'll do better when in her own class handicapping.
Big Cheese Fri 12th Apr 2024 13:58, Fakenham Big Cheese, who makes his debut over hurdles here, won over 1m6f on the flat where he had a 72 rating. He jumps really nicely and I feel he has a future at this discipline. He has a chance in what isn't a strong race, but will obviously improve for the experience.
La Marquise WINNER! Thu 11th Apr 2024 17:15, Aintree La Marquise looked above average when winning on debut in soft ground at Stratford in November but disappointed in a Listed event at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. Back against her own sex next time she defied a penalty at Chepstow. This is a big step up in class but she is a smart mare that I think has a big future.
Colonel Harry Thu 11th Apr 2024 13:45, Aintree After winning on chasing debut at Chepstow, Colonel Harry was 2nd in the Grade 1 Henry VIII at Sandown then won the 2m4f Grade 2 Towton at Wetherby. The ground was too lively when he was 3rd back at Sandown in the Scilly Isles, but he was staying on strongly up the hill at Cheltenham behind a couple of today's rivals. He'll love the heavy ground and if not getting outpaced halfway through the race, is capable of running a huge race at a big price.
Hardy Du Seuil Mon 8th Apr 2024 16:08, Wincanton Hardy Du Seuil had a setback in the autumn but came back a bigger, stronger individual. He ran a great race when 3rd on comeback but at Cheltenham last month, the whole occasion got to him. We're back over hurdles now and hopefully, he can start to get his confidence back.
Golden Maverick WINNER! Fri 5th Apr 2024 17:40, Musselburgh Golden Maverick was a prolific winner on the flat last year for previous connections, rated 83. and we always thought he would make a decent hurdler. After a couple of placed efforts, he comfortably won a weak race last time and looks progressive. He starts handicapping on a fair mark and should have every chance of running a big race. |
