We also run race-fit Show Biz Kid here. He needs to convert his decent AW form to the turf but that fitness edge will be important against some of the others.

Niminy Piminy won well on debut and we've given her plenty of time since. She's a nice filly and has been working well. It's a decent race with an 82-rated gelding getting weight from her, but I think she ought to be good enough.

Fireblade is an interesting one. For starters, I think he's a bit high in the handicap. As to the ground, everyone keeps telling me he wants it soft but from what I've seen, he should be okay on fast going. I'm still learning about him but he's been going nicely and I'm looking forward to…

La Conquiere has a nice French pedigree, albeit predominantly flat-oriented. She made a belated bumper debut at Thurles in December for Denis Leahy, finishing a close 2nd of 18. She goes well at home and should run a big race here. 

Cerulean Summer continues to run well, getting in the money most times. It's how the race is run and when the leaders fade that gives her the best chance of winning, and it could happen here.

Port Road is still a maiden but has run with promise on most of his starts for us and probably ran into one last time. This is competitive for the level but he looks to have a place chance at least and is sure to find one of these any minute. 

Abingworth ran his best race of the season when a creditable 3rd at Taunton three weeks ago. It's competitive enough, but we'd like to think he could make the first three.

Coastguard Station was 2nd in this race last year and now stands 7lb higher. He did win twice later in the year but needs to improve on his latest run back in November.

Galactic Charm ran a blinder just losing out to a highly-regarded Ben Pauling horse in a novice hurdle at Huntingdon. That fits well in this decent juvenile hurdle and we are hopeful he can go one better.

Herkeios ran well on stable debut but fell asleep in the hood next run. Hopefully, he can bounce back here as the track and trip will suit, thus making the long trek north worthwhile.

Tuco Salamanca has a good chance of completing the hat-trick. Up 3lb for last time, he is going the right way.

Mahons Glory loves good ground and jumps very well. He's been in good form since Leicester and while he has a big weight, if he gets into a rhythm, I'd be optimistic he can follow up.

Tactical Control didn't seem to get what was expected by his rider at the finish last time at Chelmsford. Blinkers seem to have had a positive effect on him at home and it wouldn't take too much improvement to see him go close.

One For Harvey probably had an excuse last run when she was too crowded. She has come out of it well and this is the weakest race she will have run in so far. With first-time cheek-pieces, we hope she has an each-way chance.

I can't wait for Saturday and the new turf season. I'd love to win the Brocklesby again, but to today. Collusion has done nothing wrong since joining us and comes here deserving to be favourite going for the hat-trick, He's up 4lb for last time and in a better race, but if he does win…

Through The Ages was 2nd to the same horse within five days last month, getting much nearer the 2nd time but on improved terms. This looks a good winning opportunity off bottom weight.

Jetronic came to us from Paul Nicholls this season and so far he isn't quite living up to a still severe handicap mark. Not an obvious choice in a competitive handicap chase.

Grand Duchess Olga returns after a short break. She seems well at home and races like this suit her. Hopefully, she has an each-way chance.

Old Cowboy, a graduate of the English pointing scene, came good with an easy win at Plumpton last time. This is a much tougher examination, but he has plenty of scope for improvement and can run well here.
