“Take Cover – Had excuses in the Nunthorpe last time out – ran no sort of race! Come out of it well and in good form. The ground will suit and a great draw in 2. Down in grade and often runs well in this class – confident of really good showing.”
Dave Griffiths (1st 3/1)
“Double Treasure – Won impressively in the spring. He’s had a nice break and a wind op over the summer. He’s fresh and well and should have a decent chance again here, albeit off an 11lbs higher mark.”
Jamie Snowden (1st 5/1)
“Ozzy Thomas – Only 4 runners and looks between 3 of us. The ground and track are ideal and jumping well at home after a recent fall. Had 2 months to get over that and Richard in the saddle again here. Still a bit to prove off this mark, but won well off 122 back in May and hadn’t been asked a question when falling last time. Hopeful of a good run.”
Henry Oliver (1st 2/1)
“Champagne Chaser: Returns from a break – last seen in February – so expected to come on for this, but, that said, is fresh and seems in good shape. Has also gone well fresh in the past and has been doing plenty of work. Last win was off a 9lb lower mark so still a bit to prove of this rating, but any rain would be a plus and stays a bit further than this 2m4f trip – that will be handy in the closing stages. Tight race but should be going well in a race of this nature and would not be surprised to see a top three finish – anything else a plus.”
Tim Vaughan (1st 10/1)
“Guishan – Keeps surprising us at the moment and has won 2 of her last 3 – but in foal at the moment and that seems to have sparked her up. Only 3lbs higher than recent win at Chester and needs a career-best of this mark, but she is at the top of her game and the softer ground today will help a lot. Did well last time to win too as she was drawn wide so the neck victory was probably a bit better than the final margin. Has course and distance winning form too so everything in place for another big run – should be going close.”
