Today's TQ View

TQ VIEW BEST BET: 1.05 Fontwell: INNESTON - Gary Moore was clearly nonplussed when Innestone finished only 3rd behind stablemate Jupiter Du Gite at Newbury. He retains plenty of confidence in his ability and expects him to prove his worth today.

TQ VIEW EACH-WAY: 2.25 Southwell: DOC McCOY (each-way) - Jamie Snowden missed a likely winner when Ga Law fell at the final fence at Doncaster yesterday, but can bounce back with Doc McCoy. Promising on debut in October, he's been given time to develop and can repay the trainer's patience now.

Gary Moore
Inneston
Sun 29th Jan 2023
13:05, Fontwell Park
DEC Odds: 2.78 (Betfair Exc)

We were disappointed initially when Inneston failed to win on stable debut, finishing only 3rd to our other ex-French newcomer Jupiter Du Gite at Newbury. He continues to work well and there's no reason to relate that run to the winner's over-exuberant defeat at Cheltenham yesterday. Hoping he can live up to his home work today.
Darebin
Sun 29th Jan 2023
13:40, Fontwell Park
DEC Odds: 9 (Betfair Exc)

Darebin has dropped a few pounds on the basis of his three runs from the autumn on but there was a glimmer of hope about his latest run at Sandown. He's a course and distance winner here and hopefully he can run into the frame in this smallish field.
Legal Rights
Sun 29th Jan 2023
14:15, Fontwell Park
DEC Odds: 5.3 (Betfair Exc)

Legal Rights won three times last winter including over this CD in February but he hasn't managed to replicate that yet this season. His mark has dropped a little and he ought to be able to be competitive at this level. Place chances.
Oliver Sherwood
Royal Lake
Sun 29th Jan 2023
14:15, Fontwell Park
DEC Odds: 25 (Betfair Exc)

Royal Lake didn't take to chasing so we've brought him back hurdling and he ran okay under top-weight in horrific ground at Uttoxeter, staying on strongly for sixth place at the finish. His confidence has improved for that outing so hopefully he can be competitive again at this level.
Jamie Snowden
Doc McCoy
Sun 29th Jan 2023
14:25, Southwell
DEC Odds: 5.9 (Betfair Exc)

Doc McCoy is bred on the same Getaway - Oscar cross as top-class Sporting John. He was the runaway winner of a maiden point on his debut by 20 lengths, 6.5 seconds faster than any of the other three maidens on that card. He was a good 3rd on racecourse debut in the autumn and we've given him time to strengthen. He works well and should have a bright future. The race looks tight but he shouldn't be too far away.
Mystic Man
Sun 29th Jan 2023
15:35, Southwell

Mystic Man was a nightmare to ride when he first arrived with us. He used to panic and throw himself about and that wasn't nice for his jockeys. Fortunately our team including Lewis and Vic have done a good job with him and now anyone can ride him. He made a noise on horrible ground at Leicester so we sent him away for a procedure and we've had to take our time so he won't be as sharp today as would have been the case. He is a good jumper and will be going over fences next season. This is his third hurdles run and he will probably fare better in handicaps in the future.
Waikiki Waves
Sun 29th Jan 2023
16:00, Fontwell Park
DEC Odds: 11 (Betfair Exc)

Waikiki Waves briefly suggested he was returning to form when 2nd at Lingfield in November, but a return trip there was a reversion to the reluctant chaser that he'd appeared to have become. Hard to predict this CD winner, but he's clearly not one to rely on nowadays.
Tara's Light
Sun 29th Jan 2023
16:35, Fontwell Park

Tara's Light makes her debut in this bumper. She's a Kayf Tara full-sister to two previous winners both more than useful and trained here. We're hoping she can make a positive start for Heart of the South Racing.
