Today's TQ View

TQ VIEW 'Best Bet': 4.35 York: JUSTCALLMEPETE - Didn't get the best of runs last time at Ascot but before that ran a solid second at Windsor. With a bit more luck in-running looks to have a leading chance for the James Evans yard.

TQ VIEW 'Next Best': 5.05 York: SEASETT (e/w) - Charlie's horse was a good winner two runs back but didn't get the best runs last time at Chelmsford. Back up in trip here will suit and useful claimer booked to ride to claim 5lbs.

Course winner that didn’t stay the 2m4f trip last time so the drop back to 2m here is a plus. Into a Class 5 race here too helps and we’ve booked a 7lb claimer to help with his 12-0 weight. In good form at home and a much better chance here today with the ground fine too.

Arbennig is by the four-time Ascot Gold Cup winner, Yeats and out of a winning sister to the Grade 1 winning Rubi Light, who won the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase, and was rated 168!  He was 3rd on his racecourse debut in a bumper at Hereford, in a race which is working out quite well. He hasn't quite clicked in three novice hurdles over 2m, but he's had a wind operation through the winter, and he promises to make into a handicap chaser.  He was a really promising 2nd at Stratford and but didn't stay 2m6 last time out.  Back down in trip here, in a very weak event, with a bit of luck, he looks to have a decent chance of getting his head in front for the first time.

Pleasing hurdles debut for this former flat horse at Plumpton last time (4th) and only beaten 3 lengths. Has come out of that race well and with that experience can go well here today in a tight little race.

Fair run last time out when 5th at Catterick only 2 days ago - lighter weight here will help but that's because it's a better race so will need to step forward again here and so place claims at best really.

Got no run at Ascot earlier in the month in a decent contest. Another hot race today but with a clear run should be thereabouts.

Won well at Nottingham two runs back - failed to build on that at Chelmsford last time over 7f but didn't get the best of runs that day to be fair. Up in trip again here will help and also being back on the grass too. Some more rain might have helped a tad, but should be okay on the ground, while the useful Benoit De La Sayette booked to ride to claim 5lbs helps and would have an e/w chance in an open race.

Back to form the last twice and out again - if okay through the day - after a good third here last time out. Loves the track and off the same mark as yesterday. Good draw in 2 but is a better race upped in grade. Each-way.

Down the field the last day at Catterick last time so needs to bounce back from that and hard to get too excited until we see more on the track. On a plus, is 2lbs lower here and Jack takes off 3lbs. But our other runner in the race preferred.

Fair 6th yesterday and like some of our others runners today is out again quickly. Only beaten 3 1/4 lengths yesterday in a similar race - Jon rides again and takes off 5lbs. Small e/w chance but very open and competitive race.
