Just failed by a neck but a much better run and one to note next time. Original quote: "Peur De Rein won nicely first time out this season at Uttoxeter, it was his debut over fences and he didn’t miss a beat – it was an impressive performance and the form of the race has held up. He then went to Huntingdon and after an incident in the paddock he was at the start far longer than necessary, but this was just the beginning of his woes, because everywhere he went he found trouble and ended up pulling up. A few weeks later and seemingly unperturbed from that experience he ran at Warwick where he got into a brilliant rhythm before making one mistake at the first fence in the back straight… he then lost his head and pulled up again. Clearly the Huntingdon experience affected him more than we realised, he is a confidence horse but he has plenty of ability and he can jump, so frustrating is an understatement. I don’t know what will happen today, he’s been in great form at home and he’s been much more relaxed in his last few pieces of work so we’re hopeful rather than confident."
