GA Law goes for the Paddy Power Gold Cup. He is half-brother to six winners including Val De Law who was placed in a Grade 1 for us two years ago. He won on hurdles debut in France before arriving with us. After giving him time to acclimatise he hit the ground running in novice chases as we utilised the generous 4yo wfa allowance. He won three novices on the bounce including the Grade 2 Rising Stars Chase at Wincanton and placed in the Henry VIII (Grade 1) at Sandown and Pendil (Grade 2) at Kempton but then picked up an injury before Aintree 2021. Off for 600 days, he returned in the Old Roan Chase there, making a mistake 5 out but staying on strongly to be third beaten only a length. My only concern is that the race was just three weeks ago and that he doesn't "bounce" after the long absence. If he doesn't he will have a seriously good chance..
