Cilaos was very disappointing last winter having won two novice hurdles the previous year. There was no obviously reason but he did injure his pelvis after winning at Chepstow in April 2019, he was given plenty of time to recover from that before having a good summer out so it is possible that it continued to effect him even though the vets and physio could find no physical issues with him. He has been a different horse this season at home, he’s much sharper in himself and his schooling has been very good, let’s hope whatever ailed him has rectified itself. Cilaos is pretty chilled in his stable but he can be strong to ride on the gallops, Gracie who rides him out and Meg who rides Vinnie do well on these two as they are both fairly keen, especially on the grass.
