Kiltealy Briggs is out of a sister to Grand National winner Ballabriggs and is a staying chaser through and through. He was second in a bumper and won two novice hurdles before developing into a useful novice chaser last season. Despite being placed in Graded novices, Graduation chases and handicaps he remained a novice for this season and we are now reaping the benefits. He won his novice at Haydock, was just touched off in a decent handicap at Aintree and was a fine third in the Grade 1 Kauto Star at Kempton on Boxing Day. Back in calmer waters here, he should have a better chance, but we're running over 2m4f when he probably wants 3m now. Should run his usual consistent race.
